Children with Special Needs
Granville Lodge provides specialised care, including nursing interventions, for children with physical disabilities and delayed learning associated with their disabilities. Both long and short-term care is available.
Our team is trained to ensure that the privacy, dignity and choice of each child are respected. The multi-disciplinary team of staff at the unit has considerable experience of caring for children with special needs. Our nursing staff includes those who have specialised in caring for both sick children and children with learning disabilities.
A support team works closely with the nursing staff. The team comprises a team leader and two senior support workers, who are engaged in a rolling programme of training to enable them to meet all the activity and daily needs of the children and to liaise with and offer support to their families. All children are treated as individuals and they are assisted to achieve their full potential, maximising their independence in a safe and supportive environment.
